The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, ordered the opening of an investigation to investigate the approach carried out by the Military Brigade, on Saturday morning (17), on a black man who had allegedly been the victim of an attempted murder. The author would be a white man. The information was posted by the governor on his social networks.

Regarding the arrest of a black man who was the victim of an attempted murder in POA, we determined via the Internal Affairs Department of @military brigade_ the opening of an inquiry to immediately hear witnesses and investigate the circumstances of the incident, with the utmost speed.

Still on X (formerly Twitter), Eduardo Leite says he trusts the Military Brigade and that, out of respect for “the dedicated professionals who make up them”, the investigation will be swift and rigorous.

Black man arrested by the Military Brigade

The entire action of the police officers was recorded by people who witnessed the attempted murder that allegedly took place this morning. In the images, it is possible to see a black man reporting an attempted murder by a white man. He tells the Military Brigade police officers that the white man tried to stab him in the neck.

However, it is possible to see in the video that at no point did the police approach the white man. All police action is against the black man, pressed against the wall by four police officers, handcuffed and placed in a police car. See the video:
