Ef. Venizelos: We are living the warm introductory episode of World War III

“We are in the warm introductory episode of a war that can be described as World War II and which we hope will soon turn into a cold war”: with these words, Evangelos Venizelos expressed his concern about the world situation, speaking on the new political show of ERT, “In the Center”.

According to Venizelos, there are two wars going on in Ukraine: an obvious “small” war between Russia and Ukraine, and a deeper, bigger and perhaps tougher war between Russia and the West, which is taking part in this war. through a representative, as he characteristically stated.

Asked to comment on the Greek stance on the Russo-Ukrainian war, he pointed out that Greece is a western country – “and of course he defends its acquis. You are not defending your acquis in a ambivalent way. population and in potential wealth, when it made clean western choices in the 200 years of its history “.

In Greek-Turkish and especially on the issue of the appeal in The Hague, he wondered “if you do not use the momentum now, then there will be no reason to do it, because it will gradually leave the gas”. In general, he was in favor of taking initiatives that violate international law, thus “disarming” the Turks.

Asked about the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to the United States, he first said that his speech in Congress was an “important event”, while the invitation in general “signals the fact that the United States welcomes Greece as a good, effective and not an ambivalent Western ally. ”

In the domestic political scene, the position of Evagg. Venizelou is that “co-operative governments offer a wider range of executives and much greater transparency, and could offer much greater consensus”, while, under certain conditions, they can be both effective and stable.
