“Mr. Mitsotakis is officially identified with an increase in poverty and inequalities,” says in her statement the head of the Finance Department of SYRIZA-PS, Efi Ahtsioglou, commenting on the ELSTAT figures published today, which “resoundingly destroy every desperate communication effort of government to show social reality upside down”.
Next, the head of the Finance Department of SYRIZA-PS argues:
“Mitsotakis is identified in the most official way with:
– The increase in the population at risk of poverty and social exclusion, 200,000 more of our fellow citizens faced the risk of poverty because of their choices.
– The increase of children at risk of poverty.
– The increase of workers at risk of poverty.
– The reduction of the average equivalent individual disposable income.
– The stagnation or reduction of income for 93% of households.
– The increase in economic inequalities”.
These figures, adds Mrs. Ahtsioglou, “capture only part of the dramatic reality, as they do not concern the years 2021 and 2022, where the government’s anti-social policy continued more aggressively and the depletion of citizens’ income due to explosive accuracy” and she notes:
“In addition to all of this, the government’s arrogance and complacency add to the situation. It is now clear that every day the Mitsotakis government stays is another day of worsening living conditions for the vast majority of citizens.”
