Egypt and the United States agreed today to temporarily send humanitarian aid to UN agencies in Gaza through Israel's Kerem Shalom border crossing until the Rafah crossing is reopened from the Palestinian side, Cairo said. The two sides agreed taking into account “the difficult humanitarian situation of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the lack of means of survival in the Strip and the lack of fuel necessary for hospitals and bakeries.” The agreement was reached in the telephone conversation that the presidents of the two countries had earlier, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Joe Biden.
