Egypt: State of emergency is not renewed

THE President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced that it will not renew the state of emergency in which the country was declared more than four years ago, on the occasion of the deadly attacks against Coptic churches.

“Egypt has become, thanks to its great people and its faithful men, an oasis of security and stability in the region,” he said. Sisi in his official account at Facebook. “That is why I decided to cancel the renewal of the state of emergency throughout the country,” he added.

A state of emergency was declared across the country in April 2017 following the bloody attacks on churches, for which he claimed responsibility. Islamic state (ΙΚ).
