Egypt: Twelve dead and 30 injured after a bus collided with a truck

Twelve people were killed when the bus they were traveling in collided with a truck near the eastern coastal resort of Hurghada. Egypt.

This is the second fatal accident in less than ten days in Egypt. On November 12, 20 people were killed when the minibus they were traveling in overturned in a Nile Delta canal in the north.

Traffic accidents are common in Egypt, where roads are often poorly maintained and traffic laws are rarely enforced.

Officially, 7,000 people were killed in traffic accidents in 2021 in the Arab world’s most populous country, with a population of 104 million.
