EigenLayer Restaking Protocol Team announced about launching a token and conducting an airdrop.
On the blog of the Eigen Foundation, the non-profit organization supporting the protocol, saidthat the total supply of EIGEN tokens will be approximately 1.67 billion.
About 45% of them will be allocated to the EigenLayer community, including 15% between users who interacted with the protocol. Another 15% will be allocated to “public initiatives” and ecosystem development. Also, 29.5% of the tokens will be received by investors, and early participants – 25.5%.
For the last two groups, the team provided for a complete blocking of assets for a year. Then, for three years, 4% of tokens will be unlocked every month.
In addition, the message states that the snapshot for the airdrop was taken on March 15, 2024.
During the first season, 5% of 15% were allocated for airdrops. In particular, 90% will be received by participants who interacted with the protocol in “simpler ways.” The remaining 10% will be distributed among users who have had “difficult interactions with LRT.”
The remaining 10% of the supply, which is distributed to the community, is set aside for future seasons. The method for obtaining this part has not yet been determined.
Participants will be able to submit claims for tokens within 120 days, starting May 10.
The team also noted that the EIGEN token will not be able to be sent or sold initially.
Note that the address (0x176f3dab24a159341c0509bbb36b833e7fdd0a132), which according to Arkham data belongs to Justin Sun, received more than 2 million EIGEN tokens.
