Eight Mexican land workers killed in US car crash

At least eight Mexican migrant workers were killed when the bus carrying them collided with another vehicle in the US state of Florida, the Mexican government said Tuesday. The victims, all men, had received temporary residence and work visas, the Mexican Foreign Ministry said via X. Seven other Mexican nationals were injured in the accident and taken to a hospital where they are being treated. According to Mexican media, citing US authorities, the bus was carrying about fifty migrants, land workers. The accident happened in Marion County, in northern Florida. A car whose driver is believed to be under the influence of alcohol crashed into the bus. The authorities have taken him into custody.
