Eight Filopalaistine activists arrested by Israel after occupation of their vessel with Gaza vessel were held at a detention center near Ben Gurion Airport, after being rejected by their request to be released, as a NGO said today. An Israeli court confirmed during the night “the detention order” of the eight activists until the next hearing set for July 8, an Israeli NGO announcement on the protection of human rights, Adalah, who assists most of them. However, the NGO points out, activists may be sent back to their countries this week, as Israeli legislation provides for a ceiling of detention at 72 hours before a possible expulsion of people who entered the country illegally.
