The Israeli government has decided to allocate about 6 million dollars and the Hebrew University to raise another 12 million dollars, in order to create a large and modern Einstein Museumwhich will host the the world’s largest collection of documents and other personal items of the famous scientist, who he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921.
The museum, which will be built at the university’s Givat Ram facilities in Jerusalem, will house, as APE-MPE reports, the entire archive that Einstein bequeathed to the university, of which he was one of the founders. Einstein died at the age of 76 in 1955 and he left approximately 85,000 objects in the possession of the Hebrew University.
As stated in an announcement by the Foundation, according to the AFP, the new museum “will be a innovative space for science and technology education” featuring “ground-breaking exhibition techniques, scientific demonstrations and authentic documents, showcasing Einstein’s contributions to science, the impact of his discoveries on our lives today, his public activity and his involvement in key historical moments during his lifetime” .
