EK, a company specializing in liquid cooling systems and components for them, announced the release of the EK-Quantum Momentum ROG Crosshair VIII Hero – Full Nickel water block. It is designed for systems based on the ROG Crosshair VIII Hero and ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero boards. The water block removes heat not only from the AMD Ryzen processor installed in socket AM4, but also from the powerful voltage regulators of the power subsystem located next to it on the board. EK refers to these products as monoblocs.
Describing the monoblock, the manufacturer notes its high efficiency, provided by the fact that the flow of coolant is directed to the areas with the greatest heat release. At the same time, low hydrodynamic resistance allows the product to be used even with a low-power pump.
The base of the monoblock is made of copper, the lid is made of brass. Both parts are nickel plated.
The novelty is estimated by the manufacturer at 200 euros. Acceptance of pre-orders has already begun. The company promises to start shipping monoblocks in mid-May.
