Liquid-cooling specialist EK has expanded its Quantum Torque fitting line with Micro HDC 12 compression fittings for small PC coolant systems and other applications where fitting space is very limited. EK-Quantum Torque Micro HDC 12 12mm fittings are designed for rigid acrylic, PETG and brass tubing. The much smaller dimensions of the fittings will allow tubes to be placed in places where a conventional fitting would be too large or inconvenient, according to the manufacturer.
Fitting height is just 11.5mm, 23% less than standard Torque HDC 12 fittings. The outer diameter of the new fittings is also significantly smaller at just 16mm. The series includes five models with different finishes. All of them are made of brass on a CNC machine. Since there is no room for normal knurling, a 9 mm hex wrench must be used to fix it. The locking (compression) ring is supplemented with an o-ring that fixes the tube in the base of the fitting and prevents leakage.
MSRP for EK-Quantum Torque Micro HDC 12 – Nickel is €6.95, EK-Quantum Torque Micro HDC 12 – Black Nickel is €6.95, EK-Quantum Torque Micro HDC 12 – Black is €7.95, EK-Quantum Torque Micro HDC 12 – Gold – 12.90 euros, EK-Quantum Torque Micro HDC 12 – Satin Titanium – 8.95 euros.
