Cooling specialist EK has unveiled yet another active back panel model. The EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 panel is designed for EVGA FTW3 GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 video cards. It is installed on these video cards together with the EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 water blocks and removes heat from the back of the video card.
The connection to the waterblock is made using the supplied terminal, which replaces the standard waterblock terminal. As a result, the water block and active rear panel form a single structure that connects to the rest of the LSS components using one inlet and one outlet.
The base of the product is made of copper and nickel-plated. An array of six channels is formed in the place adjacent to the section of the board where the GPU is located on the back side. The cover of the active panel and the terminal are made of black or transparent plastic. The transparent lid version features addressable full color backlighting compatible with common control systems. The metal elements of the structure, which are not in contact with the coolant, are made of aluminum and are nickel-plated or black anodized.
The black version of the EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 Active Backplate – Acetal costs 144.9 euros, and the transparent version of the EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 RTX 3080/3090 Active Backplate D-RGB – Plexi – 149.9 euros. Acceptance of pre-orders has already begun. The manufacturer expects to start shipping in early July.
