Ekrem Imoglou’s lawyer was arrested in Turkey

The Turkish authorities arrested the lawyer of the biggest political opponent of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the prisoner of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglou, said Friday the opposition party. Imamoglou, a member of the CHP, which precedes Erdogan in some polls, was imprisoned on Sunday, pending his trial for corruption and bribery, provoking the largest anti -government demonstrations of the last decade, which in turn led to mass arrests. Mehmet Pechlivan, a lawyer who defended Imamoglu in the latest investigation, was held “for constructed reasons,” Chp MP Turan Taskin, Ozer in a post on X, said without giving details.
