Singer Elba Ramalho tried to contain public demonstrations against President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during a show this Sunday (26).
The episode took place on the feast of São João, at Parque de Exposições, in the Bahian capital of Salvador.
At one point in the presentation, Elba spoke about the return of São João in the Northeast after two years of a pandemic, when the audience shouted “Out, Bolsonaro”.
“No, I don’t want to do politics, sorry. This is a São João show, not a rally”, said the singer.
She then tries to introduce an action made for a cosmetics company, but the show runs into technical problems with the audio.
The audience manifests itself again, with shouts in favor of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
“I’m waiting, right? The audience is demonstrating. As we live in a democratic country, we have to let them express themselves. Everyone gets the president they deserve, that’s a fact,” Elba replied.
With the end of the demonstrations, the singer continued the show.
