Elderly disappeared in a forest area on the coast of SP; Police investigates case

A 60 -year -old man, identified as Vicente Luís Pereira de Oliveira, disappeared in a forest area in Paratinga Road, in São Vicente, São Paulo coast on the 24th, around 11 am. The 61 -year -old has since been seen since then.

The disappearance was communicated to the Fire Department (CB) on April 25, at 5 pm, by the son of the missing. The initial information reported that the elderly, who worked as homemade in a site in the region, was accompanied by a dog when he was last seen.

Four vehicles and twelve firefighters of the 6th Fire Department (6ºGB) began searching the region on April 25. The operations extended until last Monday (28), with the support of environmental policing, sniffer dogs of the emergency and disaster actions group (GAED) and shock policing.

Change in investigations

Searches performed by the Fire Department were closed on April 28 and the occurrence was passed on to territorial policing. The change in responsibility for searches occurred after information that the disappearance could have been the result of a criminal action.

In a statement, the Fire Department said it remains overview and ready to resume searches if necessary.
