A 72-year-old man was stabbed to death during a robbery that occurred last Wednesday night (11) in Pavuna, north of Rio de Janeiro. The case took place on Avenida Sargento de Milícias, one of the main roads in the neighborhood.
Witnesses who witnessed the scene ran to help the victim immediately after the knife strikes. The Military Police were called.
The elderly man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. According to the Civil Police, the body was taken to the Centro Legal Medical Institute.
The Capital Homicide Police took over the investigation of the case. After striking the victim, witnesses managed to immobilize the attacker until the police arrived, who arrested him in the act.
