A 67-year-old man was arrested on Thursday (10), carrying about $ 2 million in diamonds and dollar notes on an interstate bus at Betim bus station, Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region (MG).
According to information from the Military Police, the passenger had $ 124,000 in notes and the equivalent of $ 200,000 in diamonds, totaling approximately $ 2 million.
Upon being approached, the elderly, who was coming from the city of São José do Rio Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, reported being a businessman in the material sales for 40 years.
He intended to market the precious stones of thousands of dollars in various establishments.
When questioned by police officers about the origin of diamonds and dollar notes, he said he had imported the material from the United States.
