Election of a Bureau to the Regional Council and new members of the Economic Committee

With the election of a new Presidency of the Regional Council of Attica and the election of full and alternate members of the Economic Committee, the first solemn meeting of the Regional Council for 2022 was completed.

During the meeting, Mr. Patoulis wished a good and creative term in the new Bureau as well as the new members of the Economic Committee, while warmly thanking all those who contribute, under the difficult conditions prevailing due to the pandemic in the operation of the Regional Council and institutions. of. “With hard work we continue in the next years of our term to produce work in key areas related to development, security, infrastructure, green economy, health and social solidarity. The new Bureau of the Regional Council

At the meeting, following a proposal by the Regional Governor G. Patoulis, the member of the “New Beginning for Attica” faction, Ch. Theodoropoulos, was re-elected President of the Regional Council by a majority. After the completion of the term of Th. Schinas, the Regional Councilor, S. Korovesis, was elected to the position of Vice President after the completion of the term of Th. Schinas. The position of Secretary remains the Regional Councilor of Mr. Sgouros’s faction “Independent Local Government of Attica”, S. Adamopoulos.

The candidacy of all the members of the new Presidency was voted by the three largest factions of the Regional Council, namely the “New Beginning for Attica”, the “Life Force” and the “Independent Local Government of Attica”.

The “Popular Rally of Attica” faction led by G. Protoulis voted for the election of President Lefkos, while the “Creation-Thanos Tzimeros” faction led by Mr. Tzimeros voted, the “Ecological Alliance for the Attica Region” led by G. Dimitriou and the Regional Councilor E. Avramopoulou. The “Unruly Attica” factions led by M. Tsichli were absent, “Anti-capitalist Overthrow in Attica in Government, EU and IMF” led by D. Koutsoumba. The “Hellenic Dawn” faction voted in favor. The independent Regional Councilors D. Angelakis, Aik. Adamopoulou. M. Anagnostopoulos, P. Asimakopoulos, V. Giannakopoulos, S. Smeros and Ath. Vathiotis. D. Andreakos and Em Apostolopoulos were absent.

The President of the Regional Council of Attica thanked Mr. Patoulis for the trust he shows in his face and as well as the leaders of the Regional Parties and all his colleagues for their trust and vote. He wished a good term and the new year and pointed out that his goal is for the principles of pluralism to prevail. “All this time we have been operating democratically, we have made institutional interventions, we have assisted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in dealing with difficult and unprecedented situations and we have strengthened the extroversion of PESY Attica.

The election of the new members of the Economic Committee of the Attica Regional Council was carried out by live voting. A total of 101 Regional Councilors voted 86 with valid ballots 84. According to the results, the following emerged as regular and alternate members:

After the suggestion of the Regional Governor Patoulis, the Vice-Regional Governors L. Kosmopoulos and V. Giannakopoulos will participate in the committee, while the Attica Regional Governor will be replaced by the Deputy Regional Minister of Finance N. Peppas.

The “Unruly Attica” and “Anti-Capitalist Overthrow in Attica in Government, EU and IMF” factions abstained from the voting process.
