Elections 2022: PSB and PT postpone definition on alliance in SP

PSB president Carlos Siqueira said that the decision on a possible alliance with the PT in São Paulo, scheduled for Wednesday (15th), will be postponed.

PSB and PT had agreed on a date of June 15 to define a possible ticket in the country’s largest electoral college, but, after testing positive for Covid-19 for the second time, former governor Márcio França was removed from the negotiations. “Lula had Covid, and now Márcio. Therefore, we were unable to conclude the talks and postponed this decision”, said Siqueira.

Márcio França’s allies believe that the definition should be announced at the end of June. France has not shown any intention of giving up the candidacy for the state government, as well as Fernando Haddad (PT).

The two have already started the pre-campaign in São Paulo. The PT tries to convince the PSB’s pre-candidate with a candidacy for the Senate; in case France gives up, the PSB must insist on having a member of the party as deputy on the ticket with the PT. Today, PSOL and Rede dispute this position.

Former governor Márcio França published on social media, this Monday (13), the positive result for Covid. According to the press office, France is asymptomatic, in isolation and has canceled all appointments. The diagnosis was made during a routine test. The former governor reinforced that he has already taken three doses of the vaccine.
