Angela Merkel’s center-right Christian Democrat (CDU) candidate for chancellor, Armin Lassett, sparked a last-minute controversy on elections in Germany ,.
Lassett had to fold his ballot to cast it at the ballot box, but he did it wrong and it showed the cameras which party he voted for.
“Lasset ballot is valid”
The manner in which Lassette voted violated the secret ballot system, however, a Federal Return Officer clarified that he was a well-known politician, so it was expected that his party would vote.
Thus, they concluded that no mistake was made and no attempt was made to influence the election.
It is noted that at 19:00 the first results from the closing are expected of the ballot box to see who will have the lead to take the baton from Merkel to the Chancellery.
