Elections in Argentina: what are the ballots for president like?

Next Sunday (22), more than 40 million Argentines will go to the polls to choose the country’s new chief executive who will have the difficult mission of rebuilding the Argentine economy and improving investor confidence levels in the country.

In this context, they emerge as the favorites for the first round, according to the latest survey carried out by the AtlasIntel institute, the minister of economy Sergio Massa (30.9%), the radical Javier Milei (26.5%) and the former minister of Public Safety Patricia Bullrich (24.4%).

To be elected in the first round, the candidate needs at least 45% of the votes, or 40% of the votes and a difference of ten percentage points in relation to the second candidate. If one of these scenarios does not materialize, the presidential candidates will compete in a second round, in which whoever obtains the majority of votes (simple majority) wins.

The elections are considered one of the fiercest in Argentina’s history and crucial for the population of the second largest country in South America, which faces inflation that exceeds 100% per year, devaluation of the peso by more than 98.37% – in comparison to the dollar in the last ten years — and unemployment that reaches 6.2% of the 45.8 million Argentines.

Below, you can check the printed ballots for the main presidential candidates in Argentina:

Sergio Massa and vice Agustín Rossi:

Sergio Massa and Agustín Rossi’s ticket for the general elections is part of list 134, which corresponds to the political coalition Unión por la Patria.

This vote presents Sergio Massa as the presidential candidate and Agustín Rossi as the vice-presidential candidate.

Patricia Bullrich and vice Luis Petri:

Patricia Bullrich is one of the candidates who will run for president of Argentina in the general elections on October 22nd.

Bullrich will be joined by Luis Petri as a vice-presidential candidate for the Juntos por el Cambio political coalition.

Javier Milei and vice Victoria Villarruel:

One of the presidential candidates is Javier Milei, from the political coalition La Libertad Avanza, who in the primary, open, simultaneous and mandatory elections (PASO) in August was the candidate with the most votes with just over 30% of the votes.

In voting for the October 22nd elections, Milei will be accompanied by Victoria Villarruel, who would be vice president in a possible electoral victory.
