Elections in Turkey: Estimates for Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu – What the polls show

Recep Tayyip Erdogan defied predictions to win the first round of Turkey’s presidential election by about 4.5 points over Kemal Kilicdaroglu. He then secured the support of the third candidate Sinan Ogan and is now heading to the second round for the renewal of his term, after 20 years in power of the country. Although pre-election opinion polls and assessments predicted the political end of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the “Sultan” proved to be “too tough to die”.
