Elections in Turkey: When are the first results expected?

Voting, which began across Turkey at 08:00, ended at 17:00 for both the parliamentary and presidential elections. It is worth noting that in Turkey there are no exit polls and according to the electoral law the announcement of results before 21:00 local time is prohibited.

According to estimates, by late Sunday night it is expected to have become clear whether a second round of the presidential election will need to be held. If there is a second round, the voting will take place on Sunday, May 28.

After all, since early Sunday morning, in several cases the effort of the electoral representatives to ensure that no one is “left out” was recorded, with the ballot boxes reaching the houses or ambulances and… stretchers being mobilized to allow certain people to vote.

If a second round is needed to elect a new president in the neighboring country, it will be held in two weeks, on May 28.
