Electric hypercar Lotus Evija voiced by the engine of the legendary Lotus 49

Electric cars do not have engine sound, which is not surprising, and in most cases this problem is solved quite easily – they record the sound of an internal combustion engine, emitting it from the speakers when the corresponding mode is turned on. And when creating the electric hypercar Lotus Evija, the first electric car of the British brand, they did the same – music producer Patrick Patrikios recorded sounds from the legendary Type 49 race car, so that later these sounds were transferred to a modern high-speed car. Thanks to this, the 2028-strong power plant of the electric car received a full-fledged soundtrack.

The soundtrack was based on the sound from the Cosworth-Ford DFV engine of the Type 49 racing car, which was then slowed down for processing, cut into several pieces and applied various effects. Without background noise, the Lotus Evija can easily reach a speed of 300 km / h in just 9 seconds, without making any unnecessary sounds at all. It is logical that fans of fast cars and modern technologies want to hear the rumble of a morot at such speeds. At the same time, the music producer decided not to stop at the sound of the engine noise, having also recorded the sound of the alarm and various warnings during the ride.
