Electronic bus tickets appeared in Russia

As noted in Tutu.ru, this will allow travelers not to waste time traveling to the station, waiting in line and issuing a paper ticket. You do not have to print the purchased ticket, but simply show it on the smartphone screen when boarding the bus.

The sale of electronic bus tickets became possible after the release of the Government of the Russian Federation of October 1, 2020 No. 1586 “On approval of the Rules for the carriage of passengers and luggage by road and urban land electric transport”, which entered into force on January 1, 2021. The resolution introduced the concept of an electronic ticket, and also allowed the use of an electronic ticket for boarding a bus.

On some routes, a printed ticket is still mandatory; Tutu.ru will warn about such exceptions at the time of purchase and in a letter with an itinerary receipt.

You can issue an electronic ticket in the Tutu.ru application for iOS or Android. One order can buy tickets for four people. If there are more passengers, you need to place several orders. You will need to enter data for each passenger: full name, date of birth, gender and details of an identity document. You can pay for an e-ticket with a Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, MIR bank card, as well as using Apple and Google Pay.

After the purchase, the e-ticket can be downloaded to a smartphone or tablet, found in your personal account in the application or in a letter with an enclosed route map, and also printed.
