Elefsina Shipyards and future American investments at the center of the meeting Ad. Georgiadis with E. Olson and J. Payat

In mid-March, in Washington, Deputy Minister Nikos Papathanasis is scheduled to meet with investors and the DFC regarding the Elefsina shipyards. This emerged from today’s meeting between the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, and the Deputy Minister, Nikos Papathanasis, with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Erika Olson, and the US Ambassador to Greece, Jeffrey Payadt, with US in the country.

According to an announcement by the ministry, after the meeting, Mr. Georgiadis stated:

“I had the great honor to meet in my office, Mrs. Olson and the US Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Pyatt, and to discuss the level of Greek-American relations and especially the American investments in Greece that have already been made in the last 2.5 years. The Deputy Minister, Mr. Papathanasis, will pay an official visit to Washington in mid-March.

I think that our cooperation continues in the best possible way and I want to thank the US Government in particular for all the support they have given to Greece all this time we are under the leadership of the Ministry of Development.

“Welcome, thank you very much for your presence here and for the close cooperation that Greece – the United States have developed in the investment sector for the mutual interest of our peoples.”

Mrs Olson said:

“I am honored to be here today. We had a very constructive meeting with the Minister. It was an opportunity for us to look at our relationship so far and how we can do even more things in the future. American investment in technology, in energy shows that. road to our future relationship and we welcome all the efforts of the Minister and the Greek Government to strengthen our relations and we look forward to what is to come. ”

Mr. Papathanasis stated:

“We had the great honor to meet with Minister Georgiadis to meet with US Assistant Secretary of State Erika Olson and US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt to discuss the investment climate and the generally good climate in bilateral relations. We will continue in this direction, there is a lot of work we can do to move forward with new US investments in Greece, and during our visit to Washington next month, we will be given the opportunity to discuss with investors and the DFC about the Elefsina shipyards “.

Mr Payat said:

“I thank both ministers. I would also like to say how happy I am to have Erika here and how much we look forward to the activities of the coming weeks. Deputy Secretary Papathanasis and I will be in Washington next month for” Delphi and Kathimerini Economic Forum, and we hope that Minister Georgiadis will be in New York in April for the Capital Link conference.
