The minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, said this Friday (17th) that he believed that the capitalization process of Eletrobras will materialize even under President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The statement was given at a hotel in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio de Janeiro, after the second round of bidding for the surplus volume of production from pre-salt fields.
Albuquerque said the schedule is being met. “TCU’s decision yesterday or the day before is part of the process, as it was part of the process, for example, of the onerous concession auctions. We meet the schedule and carry out the auctions, just as we continue to meet the schedule,” he said.
On Wednesday (15), the Federal Court of Auditors accepted Minister Vital do Rêgo’s request for a review and left the analysis of the Eletrobras case for 2022. However, it allowed the government to proceed with the privatization steps of the company .
Entities in the energy sector and even distributors claim that the project under discussion only has data from plants until 2019.
Despite the obstacles, the Minister of Mines maintained the forecast for the completion of the process for next year. “Within this monitoring process, we believe that we will carry out the capitalization of Eletrobras in the first half of the year, in the second quarter of 2022”, he concluded.
