Eletrobras informed last Sunday night (19) that it received correspondence from shareholders with the names of candidates to be elected to compose the company’s new board of directors.
On Saturday night, the electric company reported that all but one of the collegiate members had submitted their resignations, paving the way for a change in the newly privatized company.
Carlos Eduardo Pereira, who represents the company’s employees, was the only member who did not resign.
The slate nominated by shareholders representing more than 5% of Eletrobras’ share capital is composed of the following names: Carlos Augusto Leone Piani, Daniel Alves Ferreira, Felipe Vilela Dias, Ivan de Souza Monteiro, Marcelo de Siqueira Freitas, Marcelo Gasparino da Silva, Marisete Fatima Dadald Pereira, Octavio Cortes Pereira Lopes and Vicente Falconi Campos.
Pedro Batista de Lima Filho is a candidate for separate election by the holders of preferred shares.
According to a statement, Eletrobras will convene an extraordinary general meeting for the election of new board members.
The shareholders also asked for a resolution at the meeting to set a deadline for the unified term of office of the board of directors, exceptionally until the annual general meeting to be held in 2025.
