A wonderful reunion of friends and colleagues took place a few days ago through Varietywhere Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl talked about their time in Grey’s Anatomyrevealing why they made the decision to leave the successful Show.
Now that the fabulous medical series is about to premiere its 20th season, Ellen says goodbye to the project, because after spending 18 years giving life to the character of Meredith Grey, she wants to do different things. As for Katherine, we know that she left the series since 2010.
For both Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl, the popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy It brought them much satisfaction. During a chat with friends Variety, revealed the reason why they chose to leave their famous characters of Meredith Gray and Izzie Stevens, respectively. Apparently, Pompeo’s departure was motivated by a desire to venture into new projects.
I’ve been on the show so long I’m happy to let it go. We are past that point. I think it’s good that Meredith stops making bad decisions.
However, things were different for Heigl, as she left the program suddenly amid rumors of misconduct, since it was said that the actress was not afraid to speak her mind. But, according to Varietyhis departure was due to anxiety and stress that he did not know how to handle well.
It was up here in my head, in my gut, in my mind, in my life. I was vibrating at too high an anxiety level. For me, everything is a bit of a blur, and it took me years to learn to deal with it, to master it. I can’t even say I’ve mastered it, but knowing how to work on it, that anxiety and fear, and stress is stress. And if you leave stress out for too long, without managing or addressing it, it can be debilitating.
On the other hand, Katherine mentioned that there were quite wonderful and funny moments on the set of the series, but it was Ellen who went into greater detail by revealing that they sometimes had to manipulate a real cow intestine.
This is terrible, but in the past we used a lot of real animal parts in surgeries. After hours and hours under the lights, it was starting to smell awful. We were wearing a mask, that helps, but not the most pleasant experience. Your feet are tired and you’re looking at that heart and gut.
Finally, both appreciated that the series was a watershed by presenting successful women as protagonists. Undoubtedly, this pair of friends must have many adventures from their time in Grey’s Anatomy.
