SpaceX CEO Elon Musk revealed on Twitter that his company plans to increase production of the Raptor rocket engines, which will be used on the reusable spacecraft designed to send the first humans to Mars.
In response to a question about how many Raptor engines SpaceX plans to produce per year, Elon Musk stated the following:
800 to 1000 per year. Approximately so much is needed to create the fleet necessary to build a self-sufficient city on Mars in 10 years. The city itself will probably take about 20 years, so we hope to be completed by around 2050.

Earlier, Elon Musk said that the cost of creating such a self-sufficient city on Mars could cost several trillion dollars.
He also confirmed that his companies can resume transactions using bitcoins when clean energy is used for mining.
This week, Elon Musk appeared in court and said he hated being the boss of Tesla.
