Elon Musk calls Web 3.0 and the metaverse “marketing buzzwords”

Tesla CEO considers Web 3.0 and the metaverse to be far from being implemented. However, Bill Gates is confident that within a few years the business will switch to 3D virtual contacts.

wrote on Twitter, which now considers Web 3.0 and the metaverse to be nothing more than buzzword marketing buzzwords that have nothing to do with reality. In a tweet, Musk asks about the future given the almost unimaginable nature of the present.

“I cannot say that Web 3.0 is real. It is now more of a marketing buzzword than reality. Just wondering what the future will be like in 10, 20 or 30 years. 2051 sounds insanely futuristic!

Musk comments on a video in which David Letterman criticizes the functionality of the early Internet in an interview with Bill Gates. It is worth noting that Gates, unlike Musk, is a big fan of the concept of the metaverse and
predicted transition to virtual spaces.

Recently, UK-based accounting firm Ernst & Young (EY) announced that Australia’s cryptocurrency sector could raise $ 48.62 billion by 2030. The head of the cryptocurrency company ZeroCap, Trent Barnes, disagreed with this forecast. He believes that the document does not reflect the market research of the metaverse. In his opinion, it is this sector that will manifest itself in many aspects of life, not only for entertainment, but also for business.
