SpaceX founder Elon Musk posted a new message on his Twitter page regarding a future robotic arm called Mechazilla. This structure will be used to catch the Space Heavy booster and the Starship as they return to Earth.
SpaceX will try to catch the largest spaceship in history with robotic chopsticks. I can’t guarantee success, but it will definitely be fun.
Elon Musk

If the company manages to carry out its plans, then the Super Heavy’s landing will be something like a take-off maneuver, when the robotic towers fire a rocket, but in the opposite direction. This landing idea is not new: SpaceX originally planned to use such technology to meet the returning ships. Landing Starship on a platform equipped with a mechanized arm reduces the re-flight time to an hour or less, as stated by Elon Musk himself.
From what Musk said, he is preparing everyone for the possibility of an emergency landing. The risk of this operation lies not only in the possible loss of the accelerator, but also in the simultaneous destruction of the capture and landing system. The platform itself, on which the rocket should land, is a complex and expensive design.
As intended, Mechazilla is designed to improve landing reliability, but only tests will show how reliable this design will actually be.
