In a post on Twitter on Thursday (9), the CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, said he is “thinking” of leaving his role and becoming an influencer.
“Thinking about quitting my jobs and becoming a full-time influencer,” wrote the richest man in the world, without giving details. It wasn’t immediately clear whether Musk, a prolific user of the social media platform, was serious about leaving his roles.
Also founder and CEO of rocket company SpaceX, Musk leads brain chip startup Neuralink and infrastructure company The Boring Company. During a conference call in January, he said he hoped to be Tesla’s CEO for “several years.”
“It would be nice to have a little more free time on my hands instead of just working day and night, from when I wake up to when I go to sleep, 7 days a week. Very intense.”
Last month, he asked Twitter followers whether he should sell 10% of his stake in the electric car maker, which most agreed. He has sold shares worth nearly $12 billion since then.
