Tesla CEO Elon Musk sold nearly $ 5 billion in Tesla shares, according to financial statements released Wednesday night. It still holds more than 166 million shares.
The company that manages its shares sold more than 3.5 million shares of more than $ 3.88 billion in transactions on Tuesday and Wednesday. These transactions were not scheduled to take place.
On Wednesday afternoon, it became known that Musk is selling a separate stake in Tesla through a plan that is valid from September 14 this year. According to CNBC, this sale concerns 930,000 shares worth over $ 1.1 billion.

Before the sale plan was made public, Musk asked his 62.5 million Twitter followers to vote in an informal poll on whether to sell 10% of Tesla. Records, however, reveal that he actually knew that some of their shares were scheduled to go on sale this week.
