Elon Musk skewers Paris Hilton after socialite withdraws X ads

The billionaire, who acquired the digital platform in 2022, criticized the businesswoman after she removed products from the ‘Be an Icon’ line from the social network, citing concerns about their anti-Semitic content.

In a post on X itself, Elon speculated that the reality TV star’s decision was more related to the failure of the brand’s campaign.

“The advertising campaign wasn’t very convincing, to be honest. I don’t believe Paris cooks much,” wrote the billionaire.

Paris reportedly chose to distance itself from X after Elon apparently endorsed a conspiracy theory that perpetuated prejudice against Jewish people last month.

Other major companies, such as Disney, Paramount, NBCUniversal, Comcast, Lionsgate, and IBM, also pulled their ads in response to Elon’s controversial activities.

Although the businessman apologized for his post, he expressed disdain for advertisers who have abandoned the platform.

“I don’t want them to advertise. If someone is going to blackmail me with publicity or money, go away. It is clear? Hey, Bob (Iger, CEO of Disney), if you’re in the audience, that’s how I feel”, said the Tesla owner during an event.

Meanwhile, Paris continues to promote her cookware line on rival X sites Instagram and TikTok.
The star, who helms the culinary series “Cooking with Paris” on Netflix, has yet to publicly respond to Elon’s comments, including his claim that she is inexperienced in the kitchen.
