VinFast, the automotive arm of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong’s VinGroup, will unveil its latest EVs in showrooms in North America and Europe by March next year, challenging Tesla around the world. Pham Nyat Vyong once created a popular brand of instant noodles “Mivina” (Ukrainian analogue of “Doshirak”).
The company said it is hiring senior executives from major car manufacturers such as Tesla, BMW, Porsche, Toyota and Nissan to achieve its goal of becoming a global smart electric vehicle company.
With smart EVs backed by VinFast’s proven R&D and manufacturing capabilities, we are confident that VinFast can compete with leading brands in the US today.
Jeremy Snyder, VinFast Development Director in the USA
Jeremy Snyder has over 10 years of experience in various leadership roles at Tesla. VinFast said the company has opened subsidiaries in the US, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands in preparation for the global launch of its new electric vehicles. The lineup will be unveiled in October, and the two smart electric vehicles, the VF e35 and VF e36, will go on sale worldwide in March 2022.
The company intended to sell 56,000 electric vehicles in 2022, but the plan was cut to 15,000 due to chip shortages. Pham Nyat Vuong was named the richest man in Vietnam this spring with a fortune of $ 7.3 billion.
