Donald Trump’s return to twitter was announced by Elon Musk, saying that the exclusion of the former US president from social media was wrong and that the penalties on the platform should not be permanent in general.
In particular, the forthcoming twitter owner, speaking at a Financial Times conference on the future of the car, said that the decision to suspend Donald Trump’s account was “morally wrong and completely stupid.”
It is recalled that the twitter management had decided to permanently expel Trump from the social media two days after the events in the Capitol, due to the risk of incitement to further violence.
For his part, Musk said today that twitter should not have permanent penalties and that it would lift the former president’s ban.
He also estimated that in the best possible case his agreement for the acquisition of twitter will be completed in two to three months.
Elsewhere, he said he would remain at the helm of Tesla “for as long as it can be useful”, that the carmaker’s goal of 20 million vehicles by 2030 is an ambition and not a promise, and that in the long run China will have a market share of 25% to 30%.
Regarding the SpaceX program, he said the goal is to send an unmanned spacecraft to Mars over the next 3 to 5 years and a manned mission by the end of the decade.
