SpaceX has launched 28 Starlink satellites into orbit today, and it has become the 15th since the beginning of this year. This time, the Falcon 9 rocket, launched from pad 39A of the Kennedy Space Center, launched 52 spacecraft into small orbit. As a result, the total number of Starlink satellites has already exceeded 1,600.

More precisely, there are currently 1,617 satellites in the Starlink system. None of the competitors have such a number and, in the near future, it is not expected: OneWeb so far has only 182 satellites in orbit out of 648, and Amazon has none of the 3,236 planned. Meanwhile, 1600 is far from the limiting number of Starlink devices. An earlier FCC permit allows SpaceX to launch an additional 1,197 satellites.
