ELPE: Acquisition of wind farms with a capacity of 37.2 mw for € 85 million.

HELLENIC PETROLEUM announced that, in the framework of the implementation of its strategy for development in the field of Renewable Energy Sources, it proceeds with the acquisition of two wind farms, with a total capacity of 37.2 MW and an operating rate of over 40%, located in the region of South Evia .

More specifically, as mentioned in the relevant announcement, the company “ELPE Renewable Wind Parks of Evia Monoprosopi SA”, a wholly owned subsidiary of ELPE RENEWABLE, signed binding contracts for the acquisition of the companies “AEOLIKI ENERGY” and “WIND ENERGY PEARS SA The wind farms are located in South Evia and are already in operation from October 2018 and December 2019, respectively. The total price for 100% of the shares of the two companies, amounts to € 85 million ..

The wind farm of the acquired company “WIND ENERGY PEARS SA.” is located in Trikorfo, Karystos, has a total capacity of 19.2MW and consists of 6 wind turbines. Regarding the other park of the company “AEOLIKI ENERGIAKI EVIA SA”, the total power amounts to 18MW. The project also consists of a total of 6 wind turbines, located at Megalo Vouno in Karystos. It is estimated that the two parks can meet, with clean energy, the annual energy needs of about 34,000 households.

Regarding the transaction, PricewaterhouseCoopers Business Solutions SA (PwC) acted as the exclusive financial advisor of ELPE RENEWABLES SA, while the law firm Karatzas & Associates acted as legal advisor.
