ELSTAT: 13% increase in the general retail turnover index in September

The General Turnover Index increased by 13% in September 2021, compared to the corresponding index of September 2020, while compared to the corresponding index of August 2021, it recorded an increase of 1.1%.

According to ELSTAT data, the General Volume Index (turnover at constant prices), in the month of September 2021, compared to the corresponding index of September 2020, showed an increase of 10.1% and compared to the corresponding index of August 2021 decrease of 3.1%.

The seasonally adjusted General Turnover Index, during the month of September 2021, compared to the corresponding index of August 2021 showed an increase of 2.7%.

The seasonally adjusted General Volume Index, in the month of September 2021, compared to the corresponding index of August 2021, showed an increase of 2.2%.

The increase of the Turnover Index by 13.0% in September 2021, compared to the corresponding index of September 2020, came mainly from the changes in the following categories:
