The size of the Total Construction Activity (Private – Public), during the month of March 2022, throughout the country based on the issued building permits, amounted to 2,002 building permits, corresponding to 383,294m2 of surface and 1,736,622 m3 of volume, presenting that a 2.8% increase in the number of building permits, a 19.6% decrease in surface area and a 16.8% decrease in volume, compared to the corresponding month of 2021, according to a related announcement by ELSTAT.
The issued permits for Private Construction Activity, throughout the country, during the month of March 2022 amounted to 1,990 building permits, corresponding to 382,013 m2 of surface and 1,731,496 m3 of volume, showing an increase of 3.2% in the number of building permits, a decrease of 15 .1% in surface area and a 6.0% decrease in volume, compared to the corresponding month of 2021.
The issued permits for Public Building Activity during the month of March 2022, throughout the country, amounted to 12 building permits, corresponding to 1,281 m2 of surface and 5,126 m3 of volume. The percentage of participation of the Public Construction Activity in the total building volume, for the month of March 2022, is 0.3%.
During the period of the last twelve months, i.e. from April 2021 to March 2022, the size of the Total Construction Activity (Private-Public) based on the issued building permits, throughout the country, amounted to 24,307 building permits, which correspond to 6,087,097 m2 of surface and 25,955,636 m3 of volume. In relation to the corresponding period of April 2020 – March 2021, there was a 24.0% increase in the number of building permits, a 39.7% increase in surface area and a 39.4% increase in volume.
During the same time period, April 2021 – March 2022, the Private Construction Activity, in the whole of the Country, shows an increase of 24.4% in the number of issued building permits, an increase of 42.0% in the area and an increase of 43.2% in the volume, compared to the corresponding period of April 2020 – March 2021. The percentage of participation of the Public Construction Activity in the total building volume, for the above period, is 1.1%.
In the quarter January – March 2022, the Total Construction Activity shows, in the whole of the Country, a 6.7% increase in the number of building permits, a 2.9% increase in surface area and a 7.1% increase in volume, in relation to with the corresponding quarter of the year 2021. During the same period of January – March 2022, the Private Construction Activity, throughout the country, shows a 7.1% increase in the number of building permits, a 5.7% increase in surface area and an increase by 13.8% in volume, compared to the period January-March 2021
