ELSTAT: 21.1% increase in the trade deficit in the nine months January-September

The trade deficit in January-September 2021 amounted to 16,707.7 million euros ($ 19,689.5 million) against 13,795.9 million euros ($ 15,334.3 million) during the same period of 2020, showing an increase, in euros, of 21.1% , as announced today by ELSTAT.

The corresponding value without petroleum products increased by 5,295.8 million euros, ie 18.1% and the corresponding value without petroleum products and ships increased by 5,323.2 million euros, ie 18.3%, compared to the period January-September 2020.

THE total value of exports-shipments during the period January-September 2021 amounted to 28,637.9 million euros ($ 34,343.7 million) compared to 22,398.9 million euros ($ 25,258.6 million) during the same period in 2020, showing increase, in euros 27.9%.

The corresponding value without petroleum products increased by 3,368.0 million euros, ie 19.2% and the corresponding value without petroleum products and ships increased by 3,349.8 million euros, ie 19.2%, compared to the period January-September 2020.

The total value of arrivals-arrivals in September 2021 amounted to 5,807.5 million euros ($ 6,815.5 million) against 4,233.1 million euros ($ 4,973.2 million) in the same month of the year 2020 showing an increase, in euros, of 37.2%. The total value of exports-shipments in the month of September 2021 amounted to 3,696.3 million euros ($ 4,364.0 million) against 2,581.5 million euros ($ 3,051.1 million) in the same month of the year 2020 showing an increase, in euros, of 43.2%. The corresponding value without petroleum products in September 2021 increased by 475.7 million euros, ie 22.9% and the corresponding value without petroleum products and ships in September 2021 increased by 467.9 million euros, ie 22.6%, compared to September 2020.

The trade deficit in September 2021 amounted to 2,111.2 million euros ($ 2,451.5 million) compared to 1,651.6 million euros ($ 1,922.1 million) in the same month of 2020, showing increase, in euros, 27.8%. The corresponding value without petroleum products in September 2021 showed an increase in the deficit by 182.5 million euros, ie 11.4%, while the corresponding value without petroleum products and ships in September 2021 increased by 186.4 million, ie 11.7% compared to September 2020.
