An increase of 37.7% was presented by the General Index of Import Prices in Industry, in May 2022, compared to the corresponding index of May 2021, against an increase of 22.8% that was noted when comparing the corresponding indices of the year 2021 with 2020, according to the data of the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
On a monthly basis, the General Index showed an increase of 0.4% compared to the April 2022 index, compared to a 1.4% increase noted during the corresponding comparison of the year 2021 indices.
The average General Index of the twelve months June 2021 – May 2022, compared to the average General Index of the twelve months June 2020 – May 2021, showed an increase of 28.6% against a decrease of 1.1% that occurred during the corresponding comparison of the previous twelve months.
The increase of the General Import Price Index by 37.7%, in the month of May 2022, compared to the corresponding index of May 2021, is due to:
a. In the increase of the Import Price Index from countries outside the Eurozone by 54.0%
b. In the increase of the Price Index of Imports from Eurozone Countries by 9.0%.
