The General Index of Industrial Production fell by 4.5% in April compared to the corresponding index of April 2021, as reported by ELSTAT data.
Compared to the corresponding comparison of April 2021 with the previous year, there was an increase of 22.7%.
In particular, the average General Index of Industrial Production for the period January – April 2022, compared to the corresponding index for the period January – April 2021, showed an increase of 1.9%.
The seasonally adjusted General Index of Industrial Production for the month of April 2022, compared to the corresponding index of March 2022, showed a decrease of 7.5%.
The index of the manufacturing sector of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers recorded the largest percentage increase, while the index of the electricity supply sector recorded the largest percentage decrease in April 2022 compared to March 2022.
When comparing the April 2022 indices with the corresponding indices of April 2021, the largest percentage increase was recorded in the coal and lignite, crude oil and natural gas extraction, mining support activities, while the largest percentage decrease was recorded in the mining sector.
