Producer prices in the industry increased by 46.2% on an annual basis in March, while the increase of the index was in double digits compared to February.
In particular, according to the data announced by ELSTAT, the General Producer Price Index in Industry (total domestic and foreign market), with base year 2015 = 100.0 and reference month in March 2022, compared to the corresponding index of March 2021 , showed an increase of 46.2% compared to an increase of 9.1% recorded during the corresponding comparison of the indicators of the year 2021 with 2020.
The General Index in March 2022, compared to the index of February 2022, showed an increase of 10.6% compared to an increase of 1.1% recorded during the corresponding comparison of the indices of 2021.
The average General Index of the twelve months April 2021 – March 2022, compared to the average General Index of the twelve months April 2020 – March 2021, showed an increase of 23.3% compared to a decrease of 6.5% in the corresponding comparison of the previous twelve months.
The increase of the General Producer Price Index by 46.2%, in March 2022, compared to the corresponding index of March 2021, is due to the changes in the indices of the individual markets, ie:
