ELSTAT: Jump of 188.8% of visitors to museums in October

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announces the results of the Movement Survey of Museums and Archaeological Sites for the month of October 2021.

Specifically:

During the month of October 2021 in relation to the corresponding month of 2020, an increase of the visitors of the Museums is recorded by 188.8%, of the free entrance visitors by 163.3% and of the respective receipts by 220.7%.

In the Archaeological sites, during the month of October 2021, compared to the corresponding month of 2020, an increase of visitors by 145.5%, free visitors by 114.2% and receipts by 175.1% is recorded.

During the ten months of January – October 2021 there is an increase compared to the corresponding period of the year 2020 by 59.5% to the visitors of the Museums, by 24.9% to the visitors of free entrance, while an increase of 137.4% is observed in the respective receipts, given the suspension of the Museums from 14 March 2020 to 16 June 2020 and gradually from 1 November 2020 to 13 May 2021, in implementation of the measures taken to address the pandemic of coronavirus (Covid-19).

At the Archaeological sites, during the ten months of January – October 2021, there is an increase compared to the corresponding period of the year 2020 by 82.0% in visitors, by 33.2% in free entry visitors and by 145.2% in the respective receipts, given the suspension of the operation of the Archaeological sites from March 14 to May 17, 2020 and again from November 7, 2020 to March 21, 2021 in application of the measures taken to address the pandemic of coronavirus disease (Covid-19 ).
