The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announces the results of the Annual Survey on the Iron and Steel Industry, year 2020.
Particularly:
The total waste for use in the iron and steel industry for the year 2020, compared to the corresponding total for the year 2019, showed a decrease of 4.8%. A decrease of 6.5% was noted in the corresponding comparison of the year 2019 with 2018.
The total waste consumed in the iron and steel industry for the year 2020, compared to the corresponding total for the year 2019, decreased by 1.8%. A decrease of 7.3% was recorded in the corresponding comparison of the year 2019 with 2018.
Electricity consumption in the iron and steel industry for the year 2020, compared to the corresponding consumption in 2019 decreased by 2.0%. A decrease of 5.4% was recorded in the corresponding comparison of the year 2019 with 2018.
Total investments in the iron and steel industry for the year 2020 amounted to 10.6 million euros, compared to 10.7 and 8.7 million euros in 2019 and 2018 respectively.
