The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announces the results for Road Traffic Accidents with bodily injuries, year 2020 as well as their evolution during the decade 2011-2020.
During the year 2020, 9,083 road accidents occurred throughout the country, which caused the death or injury of people, showing a decrease of 15.2% compared to 2019 where 10,712 accidents had occurred.
The total number of road accident victims for the year 2020 decreased by 16.7% compared to 2019 (11,402 in 2020, compared to 13,690 in 2019).
More specifically, from the victims of road accidents in 2020, 584 dead, 518 seriously injured and 10,300 slightly injured were recorded, compared to 688 dead, 652 seriously injured and 12,350 slightly injured in 2019, showing a decrease of 15.1%, 20.6 % and 16.6% respectively.
