THE Elton John going to stop them concerts to deal with his personal life and just gave the last live show to North America in a packed stadium with 50,000 spectators.
So, after 47 years he once again took the stage at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and said that “I want to spend time with my family because I will be 76 next year“, he said. “I want to take them out and see why I’m retiring.”
He also hugged and kissed his husband, David Furnish, while his two sons, wearing jackets that read “Elton” on the back, happily greeted the crowd. Elton John then performed the signature song ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ that gave the tour its name.
In fact, on this particular night as part of his farewell tour, the star welcomed Dua Lipa, Brandi Carlile and Kiki Dee to the stage. It aired live on Disney+ and was the last of a three-day concert at the stadium (and his 103rd concert in Los Angeles, he told the audience). He started his shows in September 2018 and will finish in Sweden in July, although he has made it clear that he is only done with touring and not with music.
